It all started with my mom…
She’s a creative through and through. Mom thoroughly documented my childhood on film, printed those photos and created impressive albums that my siblings and I still love to sit and look through together. She can take an empty room and transform it into one you don’t want to leave. Or turn an ugly chair she found on the side of the road into something beautiful (my husband wishes I didn’t share this tendency).
During my sophomore year of high school, Mom handed me her old 35mm film camera and my love of photography was born.

I’m a wife and mom to two girls - a tiny teenager (who’s really only 10 years old), and the sweetest, most courageous one-year-old. I was born and raised in New Jersey but the West was calling my name and after college, I found myself living in a little town on the Western Slope of Colorado. A few years later I moved back to New Jersey because my family was calling louder, but a piece of my soul still resides in the mountains.
Though they don’t seem related at first glance, living in the mountains and being a mom have deeply impacted me in a similar way. They have taught me the art of presence… of stopping to soak in the moment, and to allow beauty to come from the feelings captured rather than pure aesthetics.

I love hazelnut Americanos, thrift shopping and Spotify… Best case, I’m wandering through aisles and aisles of antiques and vintage treasures, sipping on a hot Americano with a generous sprinkle of cinnamon and listening to whatever album or podcast I’m hooked on at the moment. And then, of course, heading home to hug my people, then edit the night away with my dog, Merrill, curled up at my feet.
I have done my job well if you get to experience every memory while it is happening - you'll be part of the moment, not just the photo. Yes, I know, you don’t know what to do with your hands and you think you’re awkward or not photogenic. That’s the beauty of my approach and documentary-like style… I’ll prompt your interactions in a way that feels really natural to you, inspires confidence, and produces authentic images. And yes, I’ll always ask which one is your good side!
